Round 2: Mac Jones, Alabama

The tools are not that impressive when it comes to Alabama quarterback Mac Jones, but there is a ton to like about him. He shows tremendous poise in the pocket, possesses a great internal timer when it comes to sensing pressure, does not struggle out of structure, and shows great ball placement deep down the field.

He has developed from just being the backup quarterback to Tua Tagovailoa into a leader who has taken the reigns of a program in Tuscaloosa. As a result, he is beginning to look like a top-five quarterback in this class, and could even be a candidate to rise into the first round of the 2021 NFL Draft.

Has Jones played himself onto the radar of the Patriots?

So far through the 2020 season for the top ranked Crimson Tide, Jones has thrown for 2,728 yards, connecting on 23 touchdowns and just three interceptions; he has completed an astounding 76 percent of his passes on the year. It seems highly unlikely Jones makes it out of the first two rounds of the 2021 NFL Draft, and if the Patriots want him they will have to use their first or second round pick to get him.
