Before you get your feathers, all ruffled, I know Mekhi Becton is the future at left tackle for this organization. Tackles are tackles at the end of the day for me. Keep Becton at the left and move Eichenberg over to the right side. The transition might not be easy but it’s possible. He won’t wow you with his athleticism and speedy edge rusher might be an issue for him in the NFL.

However, he has natural strength with a good enough anchor ability to hold his own. Eichenberg is a safe pick who has risen up draft boards as of late. The last thing this front office wants to do is throw Trevor Lawrence behind an extremely poor offensive line. They must protect their investment if this organization wants to see the playoffs at some point.

We’ve seen the beatings that Sam Darnold has taken and that should be a lesson for everyone. New York can rebuild a struggling roster and build something special if everything goes as planned. Being competent is hard for this franchise but things can be on the up and up assuming the front office makes the correct decisions. Get Lawrence some protection and keep the number one overall pick upright.
