What is Marshall Jr’s 2021 NFL Draft outlook?

Marshall Jr. is a player that entered the season with a tremendous amount of upside as he entered the starting lineup with the loss of Justin Jefferson to the 2020 NFL Draft. However, his stock has soared this season with his incredible play and the opt-out decision of fellow top receiver Ja’Marr Chase.

Before the 2020 season, Chase was viewed as a top-10 prospect, but now Marshall Jr. has become the Tigers’ top receiver and vaulted himself into the first-round conversation. With fellow recent Tiger receivers like Beckham Jr., Landry, and Jefferson to point to in comparison, Marshall Jr. has a great track record heading into the NFL next season.

The junior receiver finished 731 yards and 10 receiving scores in only seven games this season as he showcased elite playmaking skills before his decision to opt-out. Marshall Jr. joins Texas safety Caden Sterns as big-time player opt-outs this past weekend.

Next. Here comes Cincinnati QB Desmond Ridder. dark

Marshall Jr. closes out his career at LSU with back-to-back seasons with double-digit touchdowns and has the ideal size at 6-foot-3 and 200-lbs to become a true number-one receiver at the next level. In addition to his missed senior high school campaign, Marshall Jr. missed three games due to a foot injury in 2019. If he can prove his health issues are a thing of the past, Marshall Jr. could be taken as early as the top-25 in next April’s 2021 NFL Draft.
