Sewell has few dings

For as advanced Sewell is in a lot of areas he can still gain to grow more technically, which is a scary thought. His footwork can often get erratic but he makes up for it with how quick he is in his movements, therefore not being much of a problem currently. When he gets to the next level though bad footwork can get you burned much more often.

Sewell also needs to improve the consistency in his punch timing. Too often he will shoot his inside hand early, leaving defenders time to counter him. In college he was afforded time to make up for this and it rarely cost him bad plays.

He counters defenders well right now and is so quick to constantly work his hands back inside and find leverage points but at the next level shooting his hands too early can get you in trouble with more advanced rushers. Again, neither of these things are a huge problem right now but could be if they don’t get cleaned up.

Due to how advanced Sewell seems to be he hasn’t had to be very technical and precise throughout his young career. This will cause a bit of a learning curve for him as he will be forced to adapt a more technical skillset, especially in his punches. However, with the IQ level that Sewell has, I don’t foresee many problems in his development.
