Miami Dolphins
Well if he makes sense for New England he makes sense for Miami, right? Miami Dolphins head coach Brian Flores is a New England Patriots disciple and runs his defense in an extremely similar way to Bill Belichick in New England. There is a lot of disguised coverage, man to man on the outside, and movement along the front before the snap.
The Dolphins spent a good amount of money on their front seven this off-season. The additions of Kyle Van Noy, Shaq Lawson, Emmanuel Ogbah, and Raekwon Davis have given the Dolphins one of the better pass rush units in the NFL. They rotate guys in and move them all around the front prior and after the snap.
Joseph Ossai can fit like a glove in the Dolphins’ defensive front. He can line up as a traditional off ball backer, rush the passer, or drop into a shallow zone when they start moving guys around before the snap. Similar to Carolina, Brian Flores likes to take players with physical tools and mold them into quality players.
As Ossai enters the draft process, some teams may be turned off because he’s a hybrid type of player. However, he truly can play linebacker or pass rusher. He has all the physical traits to become a really good player at the pro level.
