5. Hamsah Nasirildeen, S, Florida State

Much like his teammate, Hamsah Nasirildeen has seen his draft stock take a bit of a dive due to an injury. He has recently returned to the field at FSU and has begun showing why he deserves attention yet again. Nasirildeen is a do it all safety who can line up all over the field and make plays.

Versatile safeties who have fluid athleticism and are physical are always exciting to watch, and those traits are exactly what Nasirildeen brings to the field. Alongside his on field talent, Nasirildeen is a captain and a great guy in the locker room.

Joe Marino of The Draft Network has thoughts on Nasirildeen:

"“Physically gifted. Features great length and an ideal build with good thickness throughout his frame. Explosive and fluid mover in all directions, rounding out his highly appealing physical skill set. Has some impressive flashes of a quick trigger and attacking downhill. His natural athletic profile enables him to make plays on the ball despite not necessarily having the best ball skills. Natural athlete that is comfortable in space.”"

FSU isn’t the powerhouse it once was, but that team still has some talent on defense. Nasirildeen rounds out the secondary by being able to line up in the deep half and in the box. He’s a good tackler with good instincts and good ball skills.

That is what you want in a safety. In Mobile, expect to see Nasirildeen be a versatile chess piece for his coach that will move around and play all over. He is not as talented, but his role at FSU was similar to that of Derwin James. These types of players are always exciting to watch and are easy to point out on the field.
