It appears Josh Myers is off to the 2021 NFL Draft

No formal announcement has been made by the Ohio State center Josh Myers and his plans after the season comes to an end. However, it appears the big man is off to the 2021 NFL Draft as Reese’s Senior Bowl director Jim Nagy has seemingly tipped his hand.

As underclassmen declarations are beginning to flow in, those who have already or are on pace to graduate by the end of the year are eligible to head to Mobile Alabama for the Senior Bowl. Among those who have accepted their invites are the talented Boston College tight end Hunter Long, and Syracuse cornerback Ifeatu Melifonwu.

However, Myers has also found himself on the list from the director himself despite not opting out nor declaring for the draft. While Myers has yet to make any sort of declaration, and likely will not until after Ohio State (now in the College Football Playoffs) end their season.

What is 2021 NFL Draft outlook of Myers?

While Myers struggled against the Northwestern defensive front in the Big Ten title game this weekend, he is still sought after as one of the top interior offensive linemen in the nation. He is bigger and more agile than most prospects who play along the interior, making him a tantalizing talent to target in the 2021 NFL Draft.

Zack Patraw of The Dynasty Draft Room sees Myers as a potential first round pick:

"“I really like the anchor that Myers plays with. He’s very strong at the point of attack and is not easily uprooted. He does a tremendous job on combo blocks and is a huge part of the running game. He’s also a good pass blocker and you rarely see pass rushers win their lane against Myers. He beats even some of the bigger and stronger interior defensive linemen. He’s a good leader out there and was a big help for Fields in his first year, calling out protections and relaying information down the line” (Patraw via TDDR)."

Myers looks like a likely top-50 prospect this upcoming April, with it being highly that he falls out of the second round of the draft. He will test well for his size at the 2021 NFL Scouting Combine as well, giving himself even more suitors at the next level. While he has not declared yet, Myers is a prospect to keep a close eye on as Ohio State’s season dwindles to a close.
