Hard hitting and potential top-3 LB Nick Bolton declares for 2021 NFL Draft
Wickedly talented LB Nick Bolton has added his name to the 2021 NFL Draft.
Monday afternoon, Missouri linebacker Nick Bolton announced on Twitter his intentions to opt out of the 2020 college football season to prepare for the 2021 NFL Draft. Bolton is coming off a ten game, campaign where he notched 95 total tackles, eight for a loss and two sacks, becoming one of the best linebackers in the nation.
Nick Bolton’s 2021 NFL Draft Outlook
Bolton has been a favorite amongst draft fans since the beginning of the summer, bring a fierce playing style that has reminded some media evaluators of Devin Bush. Currently, Bolton is considered to be a top a five linebacker in the 2021 NFL Draft class, who may rise if he tests better than expected at the NFL Combine.
While this writer believes the Devin Bush comparison may be a tad rich, Bolton is still a great talent who is currently worthy of a top 50 pick. There are other linebackers 2021 linebackers such as Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah, Zaven Collins or Kuony Deng who are bit more athletic and have better change of direction skills than Bolton. However, Bolton remains pound for pound one of the smartest and most physical off-ball linebackers in the country.
Bolton is great talent and could wind up being a steal for any team in need of instinctual linebacker. Teams that need such a talent per The Draft Network are Carolina Panthers, Philadelphia Eagles and Cleveland Browns who may add a player like Bolton in April’s 2021 NFL Draft.
