Where does Kyle Pitts fit in 2021 NFL Draft?

The reality is just about every team in the league could seriously benefit from drafting Pitts. Unless you’re the 49ers, Chiefs, or Eagles, it’s likely someone of Pitts’ caliber upgrades your tight end room. Probably pretty significantly.

As far as his draft stock? Ian Cummings of Pro Football Network thinks his outlook is quite bright:

"“In truth, any team would likely benefit from Pitts’ presence in their offensive cast, but not every team will have the opportunity to select Pitts in the 2021 NFL Draft. If he keeps up his current pace, Pitts likely won’t last past the first round, and if he does, he’ll be one of the first picks off the board on Day 2.”"

As for the teams with a realistic shot to draft Pitts, teams like the Bengals and Panthers make a lot of sense. Both teams need an influx of talented pass catchers. For the Bengals part, Pitts would help greatly in the development of last years’ top pick Joe Burrow. Providing a safety valve over the middle and a dynamic playmaker in that area of the field should do wonders for Burrow’s confidence.

Neither team is likely to take Pitts with their current position, however. Cincinnati is already set at quarterback and could be a prime candidate to trade down, which may make Pitts a possibility. Carolina has the need, but with their current position of fourth, would likely be in the market for a QB.

More likely is that Pitts goes at the back end of the top 10, or just outside of it. Here we’re looking at teams like the Dallas Cowboys and New York Giants. If Pitts were to slip, the New England Patriots at 15 would be a perfect home. Belichick and the Patriots have been looking for a dynamic TE since Rob Gronkowski left. They drafted two tight ends last year, but that shouldn’t prevent them from snatching someone of Pitts’ talent level.
