Option no. 3: Trade back

While all other options laid out could be great to infuse talent into the team, perhaps none are as exciting as the potential of acquiring more draft capital and really starting this rebuild off right. If the Falcons are not set on any of the quarterbacks available, and do not like the value of the other players at positions of need, this is when you look at your trade back partners and explore all options carefully.

In such a quarterback heavy draft class teams could be itching to move up and get “their guy”, leaving the Falcons with plenty of offers to explore. Within the back half of the top ten are teams such as the Eagles, Cowboys, and potentially Giants who all could be in the market for a new franchise single caller.

However, with all those teams the quarterback need is more of a question than an apparent need, meaning the trade back may have to be a bit further. Outside the top ten you have teams such as the 49ers, Broncos, Vikings, Patriots, and Bears who all could also be in the quarterback market if they want to move on from their current guy.

A trade back would likely bring in multiple first round picks and potentially some day two picks as well. This is exactly what the Falcons need to restart their rebuild and add some much needed talent to a roster without many exciting young players.
