Trade it for a ransom

The Dolphins are not taking a quarterback. You can yell it until you’re blue in the face, but it is simply not happening. However, there is a good chance that the third pick in the draft is used to select a young quarterback. It just will be used by another team. The Dolphins have shown that they are not afraid to navigate around the board.

The final stretch of the season showed that there are perhaps more holes on this young roster than we had originally thought. The offense and defense both looked miserable on Sunday, but also at other points in the year. Both games against the Bills showed that this team is farther away than perceived in early December.

Getting multiple picks for that third pick is a dream for the Dolphins. In year two of the rebuild, they showed a lot of promise. Getting even more talented young players could make this rebuild even more successful. That third pick is the crown jewel of the Laremy Tunsil trade, which is looking like a steal for the Dolphins.

All in all, the Dolphins options are all on the table right now. That third pick in the draft is an excellent consolation prize for losing an excellent player like Laremy Tunsil. The Dolphins can choose to add another elite tackle, a promising young receiver, or even trade that selection for a treasure trove of other picks. The future is bright in South Florida.
