3. Trade it to the Texans for Deshaun Watson

As mentioned before, we would be looking at all available options. So, let’s have fun. Yes, the Jaguars and Texans are in the same division. Realistically, the trade will never happen but both parties have intriguing arguments. If you’re the Jaguars and you would rather go the veteran quarterback route instead of banking on drafting a guy it makes sense.

It helps the general manager and the new head coach in terms of not having to get the quarterback pick right. Everyone knows jobs are lost if first-round quarterbacks don’t pan out. Not saying that Trevor Lawrence or Justin Fields won’t pan out, but you get the idea.

The trade would essentially be the Deshaun Watson for Trevor Lawrence and more draft picks of course. However, the Texans have several reasons for listening to all trade offers. The main reason being that Watson is clearly unhappy with ownership and rightfully so.

He hasn’t come out and requested a trade, but things don’t appear to be getting better any time soon. Houston would obviously lose an elite quarterback in Watson but possibly replacing him Lawrence is not a bad idea. Houston would be able to get cheaper at the quarterback position and receive much-needed draft capital in return.

Houston would prefer to not play an angry Deshaun Watson twice a year for the next five or six years, which is why the trade would probably never happen. Jacksonville has nothing to lose in this position. You’d be walking away with Trevor Lawrence or Deshaun Watson, sounds like a great situation to be in.
