Between the retirement of Marshal Yanda and the injury to tackle Ronnie Stanley, the Baltimore Ravens offensive line has struggled when compared to years past. And against the Buffalo Bills on Saturday, their offensive line woes came to a boiling point. Center Patrick Mekari continually struggled to consistently snap the football to Lamar Jackson, and the right side of the offensive looked overpowered by the Bills pass rush.

Last year, the Ravens spent two draft selections on offensive lineman in guard/tackle Tyre Phillips in round three and on Ben Bredeson in round four. Phillips started early on in the season but sustained an injury that kept him out of a few games. Bredeson played in a rotation over the course of the season but ended up on injured reserve.

Going forward, the Ravens could take a long, hard look at Oklahoma center Creed Humphrey at the end of the first round. Humphrey plays with a physical demeanor and shows good technique at the position. Although a limited athlete, his strengths in the short could be a plus for him in the Ravens run scheme.

Humphrey, while not a crazy pick by any stretch, he remains one of the safer players in the 2021 NFL Draft and has the potential to be a long term starter for Baltimore.
