2. Joseph Ossai – EDGE – Texas

As mentioned in the introduction, the Ravens are potentially losing quite a few players on the edge. With only so much money to go around, some tough decisions are going to made this offseason. Both Judon and Ngakoue are going to likely command around $16 million per year in free agency, meaning Baltimore has to chose between the in-house talent or the player they traded for early in the season.

Losing both players would be detrimental to this Ravens defense. In their absence, Baltimore’s pass rush room would consist of former third round pick Jaylen Ferguson and practice squad members Chauncey Rivers and Aaron Adeoye. Given the Ravens history of housing quality pass-rushing talent, this is suboptimal for a team that is likely looking at a another playoff run where putting constant pressure on QB’s is crucial.

Bringing in a player like Texas pass rusher Joseph Ossai to play outside linebacker is an ideal fit for the Baltimore Ravens. Ossai is a quality athlete who still has room to grow as a pass rusher, giving him a favorably high ceiling. Although they may have to trade up for Ossai, he may ultimately be worth it if they can unlock his full potential as a player.
