The Baltimore Ravens passing attack was lackluster in 2020, its that simple. If you were to poll those around the internet, namely Twitter, you could find many different answers as to why the Ravens passing attack failed to improved upon the success it had in 2019.

Firstly, some people focus the blame on quarterback Lamar Jackson and his shortcomings as a passer. Secondly, others shift the criticism to offensive coordinator Greg Roman, who’s passing concepts have been referred to as “childlike” by former Raven Steve Smith Sr. Lastly and the most obvious, is the Ravens lack of an alpha receiver.

2019 first round pick Marquise “Hollywood” Brown has been solid for the Ravens but isn’t the true number one they and many fans had hoped for. That goes doubly so for former third round pick Myles Boykin, who disappeared at times during the season. Veteran Willie Snead has also been quiet this season, and is also an impending free agent that will likely not return for another season.

LSU wide receiver Terrace Marshall Jr. on the other hand has the potential to be a reliable target for Jackson going forward. At 6-3, Marshall Jr. is a big, physical receiver that can win from the slot and from the outside. He has good ball skills and is equally good route runner, who can come in day one and be a safety blanket for this Ravens offense.
