The Green Bay Packers again missed out on a first appearance in the Super Bowl since their triumph at the end of the 2010 season, falling short with a dramatic 31-26 defeat to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the NFC Championship Game at Lambeau Field, raising questions as to what they need to do make the leap from contender to champion.

Keeping likely MVP Aaron Rodgers, who spoke after the game of an “uncertain future” is obviously a must if the Packers are to have a shot at the Super Bowl next year, while they will also need more aggressive coaching than what Matt LaFleur delivered in the clutch against the Bucs.

Beyond that, one of the better rosters in the NFL does have a number of issues on both sides of the ball that the Packers should look to address in the offseason. They will look to plug some of those holes in the 2021 NFL Draft.

Where Packers team needs lie

An infusion of talent among the receiving corps must be a priority for the Packers, who paid the price for not investing in wideout last offseason in the loss to Tampa Bay.

Reinforcements in the trenches would also be welcome given how easily Green Bay was pushed around by the Buccaneers’ defensive line.

However, the defense’s inability to get a stop in the closing minutes could lead the Packers’ front office to focus their energy on that unit during the draft.

But which specific players merit being on Green Bay’s radar with the 29th overall pick? Here we look at three potential options for the Packers in the first round.
