The Dallas Cowboys drastically failed to meet lofty preseason expectations in 2020. They were still in the playoff hunt in Week 17, but the fact their 6-10 squad was in the mix right up until the end of the season was more about the struggles of the NFC East than any areas in which Mike McCarthy’s team excelled.

A season-ending injury to Dak Prescott did not help Dallas. Yet this was another season in which several issues on the team were exposed, chiefly on a defense that finished the season ranked 28th in the NFL.

Mike Nolan justifiably paid the price as he lost his job as defensive coordinator and was replaced by Dan Quinn, but the Cowboys will need reinforcements at all levels of the defense if that unit is to bounce back in 2020.

What are team needs for Cowboys?

There is a strong argument for investing in the offensive side of the trenches following a year where injuries left those unfortunate enough to be playing quarterback behind a decimated group regularly running for their lives.

However, as the Cowboys have proven in the recent past, they are not afraid to eschew the opportunity to address glaring needs in favor of adding luxury players to their roster.

Picking 10th overall in the first round, there are likely to be plenty of luxuries on the board to tempt Jerry Jones.

Will temptation get the better of him? Or will he go the sensible route and instead use the top pick on a clear area of weakness. Here we look at three options for the Cowboys with pick No. 10 in the 2021 NFL Draft.
