Ok, so the Cowboys are not exactly short of playmakers. In fact, they have them coming out of their ears after adding CeeDee Lamb to a receiving corps that already featured Amari Cooper and Michael Gallup.

But their decision to draft Lamb reiterated the point that Jerry Jones is not afraid to make a big splash to land a top offensive prospect – especially when they fall to the 17th pick – and tight end can be considered a need for the Cowboys after Blake Jarwin lost what many expected to be a breakout season to injury.

Possessing a truly monstrous catch radius and hugely impressive body control, Florida tight end Kyle Pitts – who has the speed to create separation going up the seam and the quickness and lower body flexibility to win with his stem – can be a dynamic target for Prescott, assuming he remains with the Cowboys, at every level of the field.

Pitts would not fix the primary ills that ensured the Cowboys missed the playoffs in 2020, but he would significantly strengthen their options at the offensive skill positions. If Prescott is healthy and available to play the full 2021 season, Pitts’ addition could make an already potent attack near-impossible for defenses to stop.
