Round 2, Pick 47 – Brevin Jordan, TE Miami (Fla.)

The Patriots return to Coral Gables, FL for the selection of one of the top playmakers at the TE position in this 2021 NFL Draft. Jordan arrived at Miami as a top recruit and did not disappoint, ranking 15th all-time with 13 receiving touchdowns in three seasons. If not for a few minor injuries, Jordan’s numbers would have been a lot higher. He is a sure-handed seam stretcher with an alpha-type mentality that wants the ball when the game is on the line.

Jordan has also come a long way in his blocking since arriving at Miami and shows tremendous effort on each and every play. New England missed Rob Gronkowski’s playmaking ability the past two years after “Gronk” briefly retired before the 2019 season. While Jordan may not possess the size of Gronkowski, he will be a day-one starter and has the talent to become one of the top young tight ends in football before long.

Round 3, Pick 96 – Tylan Wallace, WR Oklahoma State

As we turn towards the third frame of the 2021 NFL Draft, the Patriots continue to add offensive firepower for the next signal-caller in New England. OSU’s Tylan Wallace has been one of the most explosive and productive playmakers in college football for the past three seasons. His breakout season came as a sophomore in 2018 when Wallace caught 86 passes for 1,491 yards and 12 touchdowns. Since then, he has scored 14 combined touchdowns the past two seasons for the Cowboys.

Long-time slot receiver Julian Edelman appears to be on his last legs in New England, while former first-rounder N’Keal Harry has simply not worked out as planned on the outside. The team needs an injection of big plays, and Wallace is a safe yet exciting pick here in the third round. While Wallace could go earlier on day two, his limitations as a route runner at Oklahoma State could cap his ceiling as a prospect on draft day.
