The silver and black are coming into the 2021 NFL Draft with several questions. While the Raiders are in the stacked AFC West, they have a lot of young pieces and progressing them will be key. However, they can not do it alone and will need some strong veteran leadership, and top-end talents at positions they are lacking. While a Derek Carr trade may not be as much of a possibility as it was, finding players around him should still be the top-priority.

Who is our quarterback of the future? How do we fix our secondary? Is it time to draft a defensive end again? Will we need a Josh Jacobs back up?

These all could be answered in Free Agency, and quite easily. Currently, they have a number of solid players expected to hit the market in Johnathan Hankins, Nicholas Morrow, Denzelle Good, Nelson Agholor, and Daniel Carlson.

Raiders in need of help in 2021 NFL Draft

Though when we take a look at their needs and what happens in free agency, the Raiders could make the smart choice and fill all their gaps, and be able to take the best player at every pick. Right now the raiders have their sights set on several guys who could not only shake up the NFL itself but how they will push forward in the draft.

While getting a quarterback in the draft, is probably the best choice when you look at the cap, the chances of them taking one at their slot may not be high. There could be some concern as to who or what the Raiders could go after as currently they are nine million dollars over the cap. So several cuts, or contract adjustments will need to happen. If they can’t find a way to trade away some of the larger contracts, to make room for free agents who can step in and help day-one.
