Corey Davis – Wide Receiver

The rallying cry heard around the Baltimore Ravens fanbase is how the team has a dominant receiver for quarterback Lamar Jackson. General Manager Eric DeCosta spent considerable capital on receivers such as Marquise “Hollywood” Brown” and Myles Boykin who really haven’t taken that next step in their first two years. However, this spring’s free agent pool features true number one receives in Juju Smith-Schuster, Kenny Golladay and Allen Robinson.

However, the Ravens possess precious little in the way of spending money, so fans should likely temper their expectations. While they may sign one of those three and could very be the only signing they make. Given the possibility of resigning free agents and allotting enough money for 2021 NFL Draft picks, a big name wide receiver may be out of their reach.

Therefore Corey Davis would be a more likely candidate for the Ravens. Davis, a former standout at Western Michigan and top pick, has had an admittedly slow start to his career. However, Davis picked a great year to finally breakout and live up to his first round pick. At the end of the season, he notched five touchdowns with 65 receptions and 984 receiving yards.

Davis may not be a flashy name nor an incredibly impressive number one option, but he is a far better option then what they have in house. Per Spotrac, he is due a two-year deal worth around $18 million, making it a $9 million per year investment on the Ravens.

Even if they sign him to play the number two receiver roll, the Ravens would still be better with than without him.
