Jadeveon Clowney, Defensive End

This once elite player, the first overall pick, and top high school player in the country still has a lot in the tank. I like this move for the Chiefs, because he should not command a lot of money after two down years. He just took a one-year deal and did not produce, but he has talent. There might not be a better coach in all of football than Andy Reid for getting the best out of players. Jadeveon Clowney still has freak athletic ability, he just needs coaching, I feel like he has never had true coaching since he has shown up in the NFL.

There is also a great plus side to Clowney for the Chiefs, he has played both 3-4 outside linebacker and 4-3 defensive end. So he can be extremely versatile in a pass rush only situation. Only Chris Jones and Frank Clark had more than three sacks on the season, which is not good if you plan to make another Super Bowl run.

They need to find a way to get more pressure on the quarterback. Even if Clowney is only used on passing downs, his size and athletic ability should net him more then that, as he has only had two seasons with less than three sacks, his rookie year where he only played three games and this season where he played just eight but in an odd way.

This addition would take a pass rusher out of the mix in the first round, and maybe into the third-round.
