2. LB Jon Bostic

The hard-hitting freelancing linebacker for the Washington defense is expendable. He doesn’t play special teams and he can’t play anywhere near a baseline level. Jack Del Rio’s led defense had one of the worsts linebacking corps in all of football and it does the defensive line no good. The defensive line is arguably one of the best in football but it won’t maintain consistency with the poor linebacking corps.

If Bostic were to be cut, they would need to find a desperate signal-caller. This player would need experience as a captain and have the ability to retain information that would include understanding the responsibilities of all 11 players. There is no telling whether Bostic actually did that or not but it is imperative.

Northwestern star, Paddy Fisher, comes to mind. There are certainly flaws in Fisher’s game but he is a true MIKE linebacker with playcalling experience. He was often referred to as a leader and intelligent player. Mike Mayock would call him a lunch-pail guy that just shows up to work every day. In fact, he is a Las Vegas Raider, I am calling it now.
