Round 1. Pick 1: Trevor Lawrence – Quarterback – Clemson

While this was touched on briefly in the introduction, the Jacksonville Jaguars selecting Lawrence is currently set in stone. With their only other options at quarterback being Gardner Minshew and 2020 rookie Jake Luton, the need for an upgrade has been made more than apparent.

Lawrence is the ideal prospect for the Jaguars, displaying consistent accuracy at all three levels of the field along with good pocket awareness and mobility that allows him to extend plays. Praising Lawrence’s skills is almost redundant at this point, the tape speaks for itself, making him the only choice here at number one overall.

Round 1. Pick 25: Jalen Mayfield – Offensive Lineman – Michigan

Despite the recent franchise tag placed on Cam Robinson, here the Jaguars go with Michigan offensive tackle Jalen Mayfield.  Although he played tackle, Mayfield would make for a quality guard as well, showing great strength at the point of attack and good mobility. He may also become more settled in pass protection if moved inside, although he’s been pretty good when lined up at tackle.

Guard Andrew Norwell has been rumored to be on the chopping block this offseason due to cap constraints. But even if Robinson is not signed long-term, Mayfield could easily slide over to play that left tackle position.
