Yannick Ngakoue, EDGE

The Jets haven’t had an edge rusher the caliber of Ngakoue in a while. When Ngakoue had a good supporting cast in Jacksonville, he thrived. With Nathan Shepard, Quinnen Williams and Folorunso Fatukasi, the Jets have the talent on the interior defensive line to support Ngakoue and allow him to do his thing as a pass rusher. Ngakoue has been traded twice this season and will most likely be on his third team in one calendar year.

After getting traded to Minnesota from Jacksonville, Minnesota then traded him to Baltimore after only a few weeks. It would be smart for Baltimore to resign him, but their track record of retaining talented edge rushers is against them. They let Za’Darius Smith walk and it seems like they will do the same with Matt Judon.

Ngakoue will be reasonably priced in comparison to some edge rushers, but will still cost north of $15 million per year. According to Spotrac.com, his market value sits at $15.5 million per year. This is a deal that could end up being a steal if Ngakoue can play up to his potential. Ngakoue is a consistent 8-12 sack player who can really get those numbers up if given the chance.
