2. Dillon Radunz, North Dakota State

Dillon Radunz is not a prospect often talked about as a first round pick, and ultimately might not be one. Now, his current draft stock seems to sit around the middle of the second round right outside the Chiefs pick at 63. However, while many don’t view the North Dakota State product as a first round player currently, he possesses a lot of the traits that leads to a first round billing in most years. Not being able to play this past season has however pushed him to the back burner of this year’s loaded group.

Radunz brings a lot of intriguing tools to the table though is pretty raw across the board. He brings the tools and athletic ability to the table that you just bet on in a player of his caliber. Radunz will need to take steps forward from a footwork and mental processing standpoint before he can be a consistent starter for a team though. While development is needed, Radunz has the makeup of a player who can learn on the fly and develop into a consistent starter, he just might have some ups and downs early in his career.

He seems to be a bit heavy-footed and may struggle to get super deep in his pass sets, which if the case, he may struggle versus speed rushers in the NFL pretty often. The hope is that Radunz can fix his footwork and most of his problems stem from a lack of processing or understanding of how to work against different rushers. Radunz may be a bit of a gamble but if the Chiefs can look to snag him round two, he is the type of tackle you take a bet on.
