After a 2020 season that saw New England’s 11-year postseason streak dashed on their way to a third place finish in the very AFC East that the franchise has come to dominate, a season in which the Patriots failed to achieve a winning record for the first time in some 20 years, the focus for 2021’s version of the Patriots team is to return to the perennial playoff form that has seemed the club’s birthright under head coach Bill Belichick.
