Carl Lawson is moving on from the Cincinnati Bengals and is signing a three-year deal with the New York Jets. This is a tough loss for the Bengals. Lawson is one of the more underrated pass rushers in the NFL and was only really hindered by injuries. With Lawson gone, the Bengals have a hole on one side of the defensive line. Luckily enough, the Bengals were able to land Trey Hendrickson, but in today’s NFL, the team needs two good edge rushers to put as much pressure on quarterbacks as possible.

This edge rusher class is not bad. There is no top-end talent that should be considered with a top-10 pick in the 2021 NFL Draft, but there is some good talent on days two and three that the Bengals can zero in on to try and replace Carl Lawson With.

The Bengals replace Lawson with Hendrickson, but are they done?

Carl Lawson is only 25 years old and has put up some solid numbers in Cincinnati. Trey Hendrickson should be able to pick up the production vacated by Lawson, and that means the Bengals can bring in a rookie to develop and generate additional production that they didn’t have after the Carlos Dunlap trade.

In this article, a day one, day two, and day three option will be provided. Even with the signing of Trey Hendrickson, the Bengals should be looking into edge rushers they could target on all three days of the draft. With Trey Hendrickson now in Cincinnati, the Bengals can afford to pick a bit of a project as he can assist in the development of a rookie edge rusher.
