Bengals: 3 Carl Lawson replacements in 2021 NFL Draft
Day-three option: Janarius Robinson, Florida State
Janarius Robinson might have been built in a laboratory. He has got to be one of the higher upside players in the entire draft. Janarius Robinson was a four-star recruit coming out of high school and was a top-100 player in the country; meaning the upside has always been there.
Robinson was an attendee of the Senior Bowl in January and was an immediate winner based on his measurements. He weighed in at 6-foot-5, 266-pounds with almost 36-inch arms. Talk about a big human being. Those 36-inch arms allow him to just about out-reach any offensive tackle he lines up against. Robinson is a fast, fluid mover who plays with excellent power.
While Robinson can stand to learn how to use his physical tools to get to the pass rusher on a consistent basis, the upside is through the roof. On day three, these are the types of players teams should be shooting their shot with. Robinson is a prototypical developmental player who could end up as a starter in a few years because of how freaky athletic he is. Getting Robinson in the hands of an NFL coach will see much better results than what we saw of him at FSU, who hasn’t been known to coach up players very well over the last several years.
