Jevon Holland – Oregon

It is unclear what impact Holland’s decision to opt out of the 2020 season will have on where he goes in the draft. Had he elected to play last season and enjoyed a year akin to his 2018 and his 2019, Holland may have had a case for being a late first-round pick and being the first safety off the board.

Holland is an impressive athlete who can operate at several positions in the secondary. He is an effective deep safety who does an excellent job covering tight ends from the slot and attacks downhill to make plays against the run.

Where Holland has shone the most, however, is in his ability to make plays on the ball. He had five interceptions and four pass breakups as a freshman in 2018 and followed that up with another four picks and a further four passes defensed in 2019.

Holland can find the ball early in the air, allowing him to quickly get in the correct position to make the play.

Johnson’s playmaking ability is one of his best attributes. Holland may take some time to adapt to the league after his year off, but there is no question he has the talent to fill the void in that regard.
