Lions: 3 Kenny Golladay Replacements in 2021 NFL Draft
2. Elijah Moore, Ole Miss
Versatility is the name of the game for Elijah Moore. Even though he played most of his snaps from the slot at Ole Miss, he shows traits that could allow him to play outside. Moore doesn’t have the same speed that Jaylen Waddle has, but he possesses a lot of the same route running ability and after the catch ability. Moore has some of the best hands in this class.
According to PFF, he had the lowest drop rate of all receivers in the SEC. He is a natural hands catcher and hauls in the tough throws. Moore has an elite change of direction ability, as well. Ole Miss would use him on screens, end-around, and other examples of schemed touches so he could do some work in the open field. Much like Waddle, he can weave across the field and bounce off tackles as he attempts to break into the open.
Elijah Moore does not get as much attention and credit as he deserves. He is a darn good wide receiver who is going to make his future team better on day one. If the Lions are able to land a top-four quarterback in round one without trading up, and Elijah Moore is available at their second-round pick, it would be quite smart to draft him.
