2. Josh Myers – Ohio State

In terms of questions about athleticism, Myers is likely to face more pertinent queries than Humphrey, having displayed little in the way of mobility to get to the second level compared to his Oklahoma counterpart.

Myers looks most comfortable when working laterally, his ability in this regard helping him open holes in the running game. A skilled exponent of the reach block, Myers can move defenders off the ball, but he is better at doing so when he can operate in close contact rather than having to climb to get to his assignment in space.

That makes him an awkward fit for the Packers’ system in contrast to Humphrey, but the Packers might be willing to sacrifice an ideal fit for the value Myers could give them as a player who may still be available in round three.

If Myers cannot improve his quickness and his overall athleticism, then his upside will be limited at the next level. However, as a big-bodied center who can easily absorb interior rushes and displays an evident desire to finish his blocks, he should bring a baseline of solid play that will allow him to develop into a solid starter in the pros. At the right price, Myers is a prospect in whom the Packers should have an interest.
