Jayson Oweh finds an early starting job

Baltimore Ravens

There is a real possibility that Oweh lands with a team that needs him for a starting job. With several teams desperately needing a consistent pass rusher, multiple edge players could come off the board in the first round. Oweh tends to be the third highest-graded edge in the class by most accounts, so, realistically, he could go at the end of the first round.

While the Baltimore Ravens have plenty of needs on the offensive front, specifically at receiver, they can fill those holes in the second round or later. A high-value receiver definitely wouldn’t hurt at the 27th overall pick, but the Ravens have shown how little they care about their passing offense.

Instead, the Ravens have shown a willingness to target extremely athletic defensive players with their priority picks in the past. If there were a “Ravens guy” in this class, Oweh fits the bill perfectly.

Even with scheme differences, the Ravens are the type of team to take a chance on Oweh based on raw athleticism. A little bit of weight could help tremendously, and with the right coaching, Oweh could fit like a glove with what is consistently one of the best defenses in the NFL year in and year out.

This would undoubtedly be a difficult first landing spot for Oweh if he earns a starting spot, but the Ravens need bodies, and Oweh could be the best available.
