Giants top targets in 2021 NFL Draft

Target One: Jaelan Phillips, Edge, Miami

Jaelan Phillips is the most well-rounded of the edge rushers in the 2021 NFL Draft and has some of the best pure talent in the class. There is a major concern with his health, but on the field, this guy looks like a seasoned veteran. Drafting Phillips at 11 would be risky, but it could yield a high reward as he grows into his NFL role.

Target Two: Kyle Pitts, TE, Florida

If Kyle Pitts is on the board for the Giants, they have to take him. Pitts is a transcendent type player who can be the focal point of a team’s offense. Think Darren Waller in Las Vegas; think Travis Kelce in Kansas City. Kyle Pitts can be that type of player for the Giants. This pick should be a no-brainer for Dave Gettleman if the opportunity presents itself.

Target Three: Micah Parsons, LB, Penn State

Three months ago, if someone were to say Micah Parsons would fall out of the top ten, they would have been called crazy. However, with quarterbacks rising and character concerns presenting themselves, Parsons has slipped down draft boards. On the field, Parsons is as advertised; a freak athlete who can fly around the field and make tackles with the best of them.

With instinctual run defending, Parsons can make the flashy tackles that speedy linebackers always seem to make. He’ll need some development to get where he needs to be in zone coverage, but this type of athlete at linebacker is becoming coveted in the NFL.
