1. Gregory Rousseau, EDGE, Miami

Did Gregory Rousseau blow away the box score in 2019 as a redshirt freshman? Yes. However, taking a deeper look at his tape displays a player who was extremely raw at the position, and capitalizing on a ton of clean-up sacks. He now added a great deal of weight to his frame, but there is still no newer film to go off of.

He then went to his pro day and tested poorly in his agilities, proving his bend and change of direction is still lacking a year later. While his speed testing was great, his explosive traits also fell behind he received a Relative Athletic Score of just 7.75 out of 10. For an edge rusher whose victories predominantly come from the interior, the cost of a top-15 pick in the 2021 NFL Draft proves to be too steep.

Now if Rousseau were to fall to them in the second round? Sure, then there is a case to take him on day-two of the draft. However, if the demand for Rousseau is that high, let another team be the ones to take the big risk of a first round investment on the former Miami edge rusher. The Giants would be better off targeting the likes of Michigan’s Kwity Paye or Georgia’s Azeez Ojulari.
