Jackson’s future weapons and a Ravens pass rush are what the doctor ordered.

With Judon and Ngakoue landing elsewhere, fans can argue that a pure pass-rushing prospect is the biggest need in Baltimore. Double-dipping at both the EDGE and receiving positions is an option, too. Jaylon Ferguson, a former Lousiana Tech prospect, is now set to start outside linebacker in the Ravens base 3-4 defense.

Although a solid rotational player, Ferguson will struggle to compete as a starter due to the lack of explosion and natural agility. He is certainly limited and will need someone with upside starting ahead of him. Adding Watkins will be entertaining, but it means nothing as far as the draft is concerned. Watkins is on a one-year deal and has only made it through a 16-game season once. In fact, adding a first-round receiver may allow Watkins to take a step back and play in a limited fashion.

Having a player like Elijah Moore, Rashod Bateman, or Terrace Marshall would give Watkins an isolated role, perhaps as a third-down target or red-zone weapon. He could end up being what the Ravens wanted Dez Bryant to be, but that should go without saying. Overall, this is a well-built team, ready to make another playoff run. Adding playmakers and pass rushers could take them over the top.
