Top targets in 2021 NFL Draft

Target no. 1. Rashod Bateman, WR, Minnesota

Surrounding the franchise quarterback is the obvious topic of discussion as we inch our way to the NFL Draft. The Ravens do have a field-stretcher in place with Brown, and a player like Devin Duvernay can really impact after the catch, but the Ravens need a true Alpha at receiver. Bateman is just that. Bateman is probably best utilized untethered from the line of scrimmage, allowing him free releases. Bateman runs a full route tree and can win at every level of the field. The late first-round seems like a solid target area for Bateman, as his play speed may prevent him from splashing into the top 20.

Target no. 2. Terrace Marshall Jr., WR, LSU

Elijah Moore is another SEC product DeCosta can consider here, but Terrace Marshall Jr. is the true operator they need. Marshall wins at three levels and wins all three levels relatively equally. Some will call him a jack of all trades, but he has more than one above-average trait. Marshall appears to be one of the more graceful athletes in the class and wins with fluid acceleration. Elite ankle flexion and flexibility allow him to pace and control himself in and out of breaks. Like Bateman, Marshall can play three receiver positions but might be best used off the line of scrimmage.

Target no. 3. Jaelan Phillips, EDGE, Miami

Once a five-star UCLA commit, Phillips has been on the map for what seems like an eternity. Those physical projections and traits have certainly turned him into a high-level pass-rushing prospect. Many forecasters are uncertain where Phillips will land, and for a good reason. Phillips was forced to medically retire from UCLA due to concussions. Strictly as a player, he has the athletic profile, size, flexibility a team would desire. He also flashes as a run defender and had over 15 tackles for loss in 10 games as Junior.
