Top Targets for Packers

Number One: Greg Newsome II, CB, Northwestern

A long, smooth-footed cornerback, Greg Newsome II has the physical and mental tools to excel at the next level. A patient player while in zone, Newsome reads the eyes of the opposing quarterbacks, using his length to break up passes. Though not the most physically gifted athlete, Newsome showed surprising straight-line speed at his pro day, finishing with a 4.38 40 yard dash. Grabbing a talent like Newsome opposite of Jaire Alexander would be a great duo that would cause headaches for offenses.

Number Two: Teven Jenkins, OT, Oklahoma State

A redshirt senior from Oklahoma State, Jenkins is one of the stronger, nastier offensive tackles in this year’s draft. Jenkins put on a show at his pro day, posting elite numbers for his position. Jenkins majority of reps have come from the right side, where over the course of three seasons he has had 1,844 snaps compared to just 483 on the left side. While Jenkins does have a bit to work on in the passing game, his run blocking will allow for him to start on day one and become an instant contributor to a team with Super Bowl aspirations.

Number Three: Elijah Moore, WR, Ole Miss

One of the bigger risers over the offseason, Elijah Moore is an electric playmaker that would add another dimension to the Green Bay Packers offense. A slot receiver, Moore is a little on the smaller side, coming in at 5-foot-9 and 178 pounds. Moore’s agility and speed are elite, as he has demonstrated good route running and quick feet during his time with the Rebels.

Moore’s hands are exceptional as well, only having two drops this season. While Moore would most likely start the season as Green Bay’s fourth wide receiver, it would not take him long to start getting reps over Allen Lazard and Marquez Valdes-Scantling. Moore would be a great weapon to use on jet sweeps, screen passes, taking the top off the defense, and everything in between.
