Top targets in Chicago

Target One: Mac Jones, QB, Alabama

This is not a flashy pick at quarterback, but it’s the one most likely to happen at the end of the month. Mac Jones is the fifth-best quarterback in the 2021 NFL Draft and is the most likely to fall into the range that the Bears can trade up to if they want to. Mac Jones is not the most physically gifted quarterback, but the NFL seems to love him.

Target Two: Greg Newsome II, CB, Northwestern

As it was stated previously, the release of Kyle Fuller left a big gap in the secondary. Greg Newsome is a day one starter at cornerback and is fully worthy of a top-20 pick. He is a fantastic athlete and has phenomenal tape. He stays in phase with receivers at all points throughout the route but doesn’t get too grabby. Newsome is one of the best corners and players in this class and will be a rookie standout for Chicago.

Target Three: Teven Jenkins, OT, Oklahoma State

Teven Jenkins is the most violent player in this draft class. With bricks for hands and a mauler’s mentality, Jenkins knows how to beat up defensive linemen. When people hear about a mauling offensive lineman, they think of a bad athlete who is strong, but Jenkins is a good athlete and is strong, which gives him so much more upside. Another plus side of this pick is that if he doesn’t work out at offensive tackle due to a lack of length, he can make an easy transition to guard and dominate there.
