There is no team in a more uncertain time than the Houston Texans. While there is usually excitement revolving around teams going through a new era, there is only hesitation and turmoil surrounding the Texans as Jack Easterby’s role within the organization continues to grow.

After firing former head coach and general manager Bill O’Brien, the Texans looked like they were headed in the right direction. They then, however, allowed Easterby to hijack their hiring process and pluck Nick Caserio from the New England Patriots as their new general manager. This came against the desires of the search committee organized to find the best candidates.

They then scraped the bottom of the barrel in order to hire David Culley as their next head coach as candidates like Eric Bieniemy did not make the cut. Entering this new era, can the Texans navigate through the muddy waters ahead of them?

Can Texans recover from Watson turmoil?

From demanding a trade to having no trade value at all, the Texans now have to deal with the Deshaun Watson saga. They must now be wishing they had answered their phones a few months ago when teams were offering them their future for the quarterback. Now they head into a further uncertain future as this new era under the reign of Easterby treks along.

While they have limited assets and do not have a pick until the third round in the 2021 NFL Draft, how will they attack the event that is less than two weeks away? Here is a pre-draft primer for the rudderless Texans.
