Texans offseason less than inspiring thus far

To put it bluntly, there are players added by the Texans that may not have been signed by the other 31 other teams. In pursuit of a culture change, Caserio and Easterby seemingly opted for good guys rather than good football players as they overhauled the roster. This team has the makings of a tanking team in 2021.

They now also put the hopes and dreams of the 2021 season into the hands of journeyman veteran quarterback Tyrod Taylor after spending the last two seasons with the Los Angeles Chargers. As the terrible and unfortunate Watson saga is no closer to an end, it looks as though he will be the starting quarterback of the Texans this season.

There is nothing appealing about two running backs over the age of 30, an injury-prone linebacker in Christian Kirksey, and a bunch of other middling players. Also, trading for players like Ryan Finley and Shaq Lawson are moves that no other team would make.

Caserio is off to a rough start as the general manager of the Texans, but who knows? He could be preparing a three-year rebuild similar to the Browns from 2017-to-2019. Oh yeah, and they cut their franchise’s most loved player in J.J. Watt after he asked for his release.

Turning to the draft, how will the Texans attack with their limited draft assets?
