Team needs entering 2021 NFL Draft

Need no. 1: EDGE

The Texans granted Watt his release, the only productive pass rusher on the roster. Not only is their franchise cornerstone off to the Arizona Cardinals, but they are now switching to a Tampa 2 scheme under new defensive coordinator Lovie Smith. They lack pass rushers who can slide outside of the 4i look, and is now a massive need in the draft.

Need no. 2: Cornerback

The trade for Gareon Conley did not pan out well, nor did the signing of Vernon Hargreaves. Instead of taking a chance on failed first rounders, the Texans should look to draft their own talent in a deep class of cornerbacks. While they signed Mitchell, do not expect that to be the end of their pursuit to upgrade their secondary as this was a major weakness a year ago.

Need no. 3: Interior offensive line

Outside of Laremy Tunsil, a player they mortgaged their entire future to get, the interior offensive line of the Texans is a mess. While they will still give young players Max Scharping and Tytus Howard a chance to step up, it is time to add another young talent to their offensive trenches as well to protect Watson, Taylor, or whoever takes snaps under center this season for the Texans.
