It seems like every year there are multiple players that the draft community and the media love, that just do not match up with my rankings or evaluations. The 2021 NFL Draft is no different with multiple players being graded much lower than common consensus or their current draft stock shows. Now, most of these players I am a fan of and get why they are highly rated but have some holes I think are consistently overlooked.

Every year there are a few players that are drafted in the first round that many questions. In fact, we are at the point of the draft season where we are overthinking every prospect and simultaneously creating about 50 first round locks. Because of the nature of this offseason, without a combine or anything, it has led to some mirky information, with very little idea how the NFL actually thinks of many of these prospects.

What 2021 NFL Draft prospects are a bit overhyped?

For me personally, I grade harsher than most evaluators do, and as such, I do not carry as many first round grades as most in the media have. Because of this, many of the players I seem to be “lower” on do carry relatively low grades for me compared to where you see them by most major outlets.

However, providing different rankings is good, as long as you can back up your stance on a player with why you believe it and point to reasons why you have said player higher or lower than the majority. This is what I do here, as I try to spark discussion as to why I am lower on some of the big named players in the 2021 NFL Draft than most.
