Top targets in 2021 NFL Draft

Target One: Jaelan Phillips, EDGE, Miami

Jaelan Phillips is a top-2 edge rusher in this class, so you might be wondering how on earth he would fall to 32. Well, it’s his off-the-field concerns. Not about attitude or anything like that, but he has had some serious injuries in his career that once forced him to retire from football. Some teams won’t have him on their board, and that will benefit the Buccaneers if they are interested. When he is on the field, however, he’s among the best in the 2021 NFL Draft.

Target Two: Christian Barmore, IDL, Alabama

Looking at what General Manager Jason Licht said about the draft this year, is that they will be looking for players who will make an impact down the road, not in year one. That describes  Christian Barmore’s outlook to a tee. Barmore, regardless of what team he goes to, will not make a huge impact in round one, so getting him to a team that doesn’t even need him to start is the best-case scenario. Also, I do not care about what Warren Sapp said about him; he also once said Myles Garrett isn’t good.

Target Three: Samuel Cosmi, OT, Texas

Donovan Smith is going to be the starter on week one next year, but Samuel Cosmi should be able to take over that role quite quickly. Looking at Tristan Wirfs, and what made him so special last year, we turn to his athleticism. Cosmi is just as good of an athlete. He tested as an elite athlete in every category at his pro-day. Imagine an offensive line of Samuel Cosmi, Ali Marpet, Ryan Jensen, Alex Cappa, and Tristan Wirfs; unstoppable.
