The choice is clear for Cowboys

Not only is he capable to locate the ball at a high level, but his 4.46 40-yard dash time also speaks to how well his movement is, given his larger size compared to other corners. As his father alluded to, he’ll be expected to be an enormous presence on any defense in the short field and quicker throws through his solid press coverage.

South Carolina’s Jaycee Horn and Virginia Tech’s Caleb Farley are challengers to be the first cornerbacks off the board. It wouldn’t be a surprise if one of them was a Cowboy by the end of the first round either.  Nevertheless, the 2020 SEC Defensive Player of the Year and First-Team All-American seems to be the perfect fit for Dan Quinn’s defense looking to improve from their passing defense struggles en route to their third-place finish in the NFC East.

Dallas must have more attitude, physicality, and talent in their pass defense in order to take another step towards their defense becoming more respected around the league. As a Cowboys fan myself, I want this to happen. The consensus is Cowboys nation would rejoice given Surtain II has a star on his helmet once he enters the NFL in just a week.
