Round 3, Pick 91 (via NO): Hamsah Nasirildeen, S, Florida State

While Florida State safety Hamsah Nasirildeen played just two games after tearing his ACL in 2019, his two games were great. He then went down to the Senior Bowl and looked sticky in off-man coverage, is not afraid to step down into the box, and can play in the slot as well. As the Browns look to have a need at linebacker, do not expect them to prioritize it in the 2021 NFL Draft.

Instead, look for them to roll with newly signed Anthony Walker and third round pick last year Jacob Phillips to run that room (sorry Browns fans, Mack Wilson probably doesn’t make the roster). While the Browns will not prioritize a linebacker, they will look to add a versatile safety who can play at the second level in nickel and dime situations (which defensive coordinator Joe Woods wants to run as his base defense in 2021).

Nasirildeen fits the bill to be that versatile chess piece for Woods and the Browns. While his health is a bit worrisome, he fits within the age threshold of the Browns as well. There is no real idea out there of where Nasirildeen’s draft stock sits as the 2021 NFL Draft approaches. However, this writer would have no idea taking a late day-two flier on the talented and versatile Nasirildeen.
