The Baltimore Ravens dealt starting right tackle Orlando Brown to the Chiefs after he made it known he wished to play left tackle. The Ravens traded Orlando Brown, their 2021 second-round pick, and their 2022 sixth-round pick in exchange for the Chiefs 2021 first-round pick, third-round pick, a fourth-round pick, and a 2022 fifth-round pick.

This trade greatly shakes up the first-round outlook of the 2021 NFL Draft. With two picks in the final 10 picks of the 2021 NFL Draft, the Ravens will most definitely be able to find a replacement for Orlando Brown with one of them. This trade allows the Ravens to explore multiple options within the first round and it gives the Chiefs a new left tackle, which they have desperately needed ever since they got exposed in the Super Bowl.

Ravens are in win-now mode and a new offensive tackle could help.

The Baltimore Ravens are looking to build up a team that they believe can make a serious run for a Super Bowl under stud quarterback Lamar Jackson. Despite this trade opening up a need, the addition of an additional first-round pick will allow them to fill it in the first round of the draft. The Ravens still have Ronnie Stanley as their starting left tackle, so they will be looking for someone to play on the right side of the line. With a deep tackle class, there are going to be plenty of options for the Ravens’ front office to consider when making their pick at the end of round one.

Despite the reported signing of Alejandro Villanueva, the Ravens could still be in the market for an offensive tackle in the 2021 NFL Draft.
