Offseason Recap

There haven’t been many other teams in the NFL that have been as active as the Arizona Cardinals have been this 2021 offseason. The first major move of the offseason came back on March 1st when the Cardinals signed superstar free agent JJ Watt after his release from the disastrous Houston Texans. The Cardinals have quickly become the go-to destination for unhappy Texans stars between Hopkins and Watt both now being on the roster.

In addition to signing J.J. Watt the Cardinals signed a sizeable amount of free agents including guys such as cornerback Robert Alford who was cut and then resigned, tackle Kelvin Beachum, Cincinnati Bengals legend in wide receiver A.J. Green, kicker Matt Prater, offensive lineman Brian Winters, offensive lineman Max Garcia, CB Malcolm Butler, quarterback Colt McCoy, and running back James Conner among others. In addition to bringing in those new faces, they resigned a few of their own guys such as P Andy Lee, LB Tanner Vallejo, and LB Markus Golden.

In addition to those signings, the Cardinals hit the trade market by acquiring former Las Vegas Raiders center Rodney Hudson after sending out a 2021 third rounder in exchange for Hudson and a 2021 seventh rounder. After bringing in a few free agents and trading for Hudson, the Cardinals traded away offensive lineman Mason Cole to the Minnesota Vikings for a 2021 sixth round pick.
