Packers fix the inside of the offensive line getting a solid center.

Josh Myers out of Ohio State was the best center left on the board, at a position they needed to be filled. He was a decent value at this pick and will keep the line intact moving forward. While the offensive line is never an exciting pick it is a needed one, and they lost one of the best centers in the league during free agency.

He was not a natural center, but played all 14 games in 2019 there and continued with every game for the Buckeyes in 2020. Getting him runner-up honors on multiple awards.

After the bag handed out to Aaron Jones, they needed to make sure they could keep the running game going. Their quarterback, if he comes back that is, is 37-years-old. So keeping him upright and the ground game moving is pivotal for future success. Not to mention, the Bears and Vikings have pretty solid interior defenders they will need to go up against. So this was a smart and solid pick by the Packers.

The need outweighs the value here, as many would have wanted a receiver here. They could not go into the season with a bottom-of-the-league center.

While the true value of this pick may not be known for a while, it might be scrutinized if some of the pass-catchers who were drafted after him end up doing well. But, the Packers have done a decent job of drafting and creating an offensive line recently, so I would assume this would continue. The biggest question around this pick would be if he was a better option than Creed Humphrey, who went next. Many had Creed as the best center in the class.
