Quarterback

Since the Lions have two first-round picks, this list will give an option at the top of the first round and the bottom of the first round, as those are where their projected picks are currently slotted.

Jared Goff is not enough at the position. His offensive weapons are not great, but regardless, he is not a franchise quarterback. Unfortunately for the Lions, the 2022 NFL Draft does not have the greatest quarterback class. If the front office wants to draft a quarterback with their top pick, a trade down might not be out of the question.

The quarterback that could be targeted in the top-10 should be Matt Corral. Corral is a Heisman Trophy candidate from Ole Miss who is one of the best quarterbacks in the country right now. He can throw the ball into tight windows and sling it to all levels of the field. Coming into the season, there were major concerns with his decision-making, but his play this year has mitigated those concerns. In addition to his arm talent, Corral has done a great job showing off his rushing prowess. The Lions have already shown interest, as they had scouts at his game against Liberty.

If the team is looking at the back end of the first round for a quarterback, a name they might target is Carson Strong. Strong is one of the best quarterbacks in the country, but a knee injury apparently has the NFL worried, which might mean he drops down boards in April. Strong is smart, accurate, and has a cannon for an arm. Without knee concerns, Strong would be in consideration with the first pick.

Now, onto the wide receiver position.
